Jack Grealish could become a Manchester City player in the next few days

Man City are looking to break their club transfer record (£61.2m), and make Grealish the most expensive English player of all time at £100M.

Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the Villa captain, and plans to use him in the number 8 position, providing competition for Ilkay Gundogan.

However, Aston Villa may potentially be a hurdle in any Grealish and Pep link up, as they stand firm on their stance they want to keep their captain.

Villa have offered Grealish a new contract, with increased wages, to try and keep their priced asset.

No deal has been decided yet though, and it is unclear if Aston Villa will accept Manchester City’s offer.
